Telemedicine Services by Pure IV

You can now access physician-supervised healthcare from your couch, hotel room, or office — anywhere in the states we serve. Pure IV’s telemedicine program connects you with licensed healthcare providers through secure, live video consultations. No waiting rooms. No commute. Just real medical care from real providers who are licensed in your state.

Whether you’re looking for medical weight loss support with GLP-1 medications like semaglutide or tirzepatide, exploring testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), or need a Good Faith Exam (GFE) before your next IV therapy session, our telemedicine program makes it easy to get the care you need.

Every consultation is conducted via live video by a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Medical Director (MD). We do not prescribe medications based on questionnaires alone. Your health deserves more than a form — it deserves a conversation with a real provider.

What Is Telemedicine and How Does It Work?

Telemedicine is the delivery of healthcare services through technology — specifically live video consultations between you and a licensed medical provider. Instead of driving to a clinic, you connect with your provider from your phone, tablet, or computer.

Telemedicine is not a shortcut around real medical care. When done right, it meets the same standard of care as an in-person visit. Your provider reviews your medical history, asks questions, evaluates your symptoms and goals, and makes clinical decisions — just like they would in a traditional office setting.

At Pure IV, telemedicine is an extension of our mobile healthcare model. We already come to you for IV therapy. Now, we bring medical consultations to you virtually for weight management, hormone therapy, and IV therapy medical evaluations.

Telemedicine vs. Online Questionnaire-Only Services

There are a lot of telehealth companies out there that let you fill out a form and get a prescription without ever speaking to a doctor. That might be faster, but it’s not the same thing as a medical evaluation. Many state medical boards and the DEA require a synchronous (live, real-time) consultation before prescribing certain medications — especially controlled substances like testosterone.

Pure IV uses synchronous video for every initial evaluation. That means you will always speak with a licensed provider face-to-face on camera before any prescription is written. This is the safest, most compliant approach — and it’s how we’d want our own families treated.

How It Works

How Pure IV Telemedicine Works

Getting started with Pure IV telemedicine is simple. Here’s what the process looks like from start to finish:

Computer screen displaying a calendar with a checkmark on a date.

Step 1

Book Your Consultation

Choose your telemedicine service (weight loss, TRT, or IV therapy GFE) and select an available time slot through our online booking system. You’ll receive a confirmation email with instructions for your appointment.

Black clipboard with three checkmarks.

Step 2

Complete Your Health Intake

Before your visit, you’ll fill out a secure health intake form through IntakeQ, our HIPAA-compliant intake platform. This form covers your medical history, current medications, allergies, health conditions, and your treatment goals. Completing this in advance lets your provider spend more time talking with you and less time on paperwork.

Step 3

Live Video Consultation

At your scheduled time, you’ll connect with a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Medical Director through a secure video platform. During this consultation, your provider will review your health history and intake form, discuss your symptoms, concerns, and treatment goals, perform a clinical evaluation via video, answer your questions, and determine whether treatment is clinically appropriate for you.

This is a real medical appointment — not a rubber stamp. Our providers will decline to prescribe if treatment isn’t safe or appropriate for you. That’s not a limitation; it’s a feature.

Step 4

Personalized Treatment Plan

If your provider determines that treatment is appropriate, they’ll create a personalized plan tailored to your needs. Depending on your consultation type, this may include a prescription for FDA-approved medications (sent electronically to a licensed pharmacy of your choice), lab orders for diagnostic testing (testosterone panels, metabolic panels, etc.), IV therapy treatment recommendations, and a follow-up schedule to monitor your progress.

Step 5

Ongoing Monitoring and Follow-Up

Telemedicine doesn’t end after one visit. Your provider will schedule follow-up consultations to check your progress, review lab results, adjust dosages, and make sure your treatment is working safely. For GLP-1 medications, follow-ups typically happen every 4 to 6 weeks during dose titration. For TRT, follow-up labs are typically required every 3 to 6 months.

Telemedicine Services Available Through Pure IV

Pure IV telemedicine consultations cover three primary service areas. Each is backed by licensed providers, HIPAA-compliant technology, and a commitment to real clinical standards.

  • Medical Weight Loss with GLP-1 Medications

GLP-1 receptor agonists are a class of FDA-approved medications that have changed how doctors approach weight management. These medications work by mimicking a natural hormone in your body that regulates appetite and blood sugar. The result is reduced hunger, improved portion control, and meaningful weight loss when combined with lifestyle changes.

Pure IV’s telemedicine program offers provider-supervised weight loss consultations for two FDA-approved GLP-1 medications:

    Semaglutide (Ozempic® / Wegovy®)

Semaglutide is an injectable GLP-1 receptor agonist approved by the FDA for chronic weight management in adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or a BMI of 27 or higher with at least one weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol. It is administered as a once-weekly injection.

In clinical trials, patients taking semaglutide lost an average of approximately 15% of their body weight over 68 weeks. Results vary by individual and depend on adherence to treatment, diet, and physical activity.

    Tirzepatide (Mounjaro® / Zepbound®)

Tirzepatide is a dual-action injectable medication that works on both GLP-1 and GIP receptors. It is FDA-approved for chronic weight management and type 2 diabetes. Tirzepatide is administered as a once-weekly injection.

Clinical trials showed average weight loss of approximately 15% to 21% of body weight over 72 weeks, making it one of the most effective weight management medications currently available.

Who May Qualify for GLP-1 Treatment:

    • Adults 18 years or older
    • BMI of 30 or higher (obese), or BMI of 27 or higher (overweight) with at least one weight-related health condition
    • No personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
    • No history of pancreatitis
    • Not currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant

Important Disclosure: Pure IV prescribes only FDA-approved, brand-name GLP-1 medications. We do not prescribe, dispense, or promote compounded versions of semaglutide or tirzepatide. All prescriptions are sent electronically to a licensed retail or specialty pharmacy of your choice. Pure IV does not ship medications directly to patients.

  • Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)

Testosterone is a hormone that plays a critical role in energy, mood, muscle mass, bone density, libido, and overall well-being. As men age, testosterone levels naturally decline — sometimes causing symptoms that significantly affect quality of life.

Low testosterone (hypogonadism) can cause fatigue and low energy, decreased sex drive, erectile dysfunction, loss of muscle mass and increased body fat, brain fog and difficulty concentrating, depressed mood or irritability, and sleep disturbances.

Pure IV’s telemedicine program provides a thorough, provider-supervised approach to TRT for adult men experiencing symptoms of low testosterone.

How TRT Works Through Pure IV Telemedicine:

    1. Your provider conducts a live video consultation to evaluate your symptoms and medical history.
    2. Lab work is ordered (total testosterone, free testosterone, CBC, metabolic panel, PSA, and other relevant markers).
    3. If labs confirm low testosterone and treatment is clinically appropriate, your provider prescribes a personalized TRT protocol.
    4. Your prescription is sent to a licensed pharmacy. Pure IV does not ship testosterone directly.
    5. Follow-up labs are scheduled every 3 to 6 months to monitor your levels, hematocrit, PSA, and overall health.

Controlled Substance Compliance: Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance under federal law. Pure IV complies with all DEA regulations and state-specific controlled substance prescribing laws. Under current DEA telemedicine flexibilities (extended through December 31, 2026), initial prescriptions may be issued via telemedicine without a prior in-person visit, provided all other requirements are met.

  • Good Faith Exam (GFE) for IV Therapy

Before you receive IV therapy treatment from Pure IV, a licensed provider must conduct a Good Faith Exam (GFE) to ensure treatment is safe for you. This is a quick medical screening — typically about 5 minutes — conducted via live video by a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Medical Director.

During your GFE, the provider reviews your medical history, current medications, allergies, and any contraindications for IV therapy. Once approved, your GFE is valid for one year, meaning you can book IV treatments throughout the year without needing a new exam.

    GFE Details:

    • Duration: Approximately 5 minutes via live video
    • Cost: $5 medical review fee
    • Validity: 1 year from the date of approval
    • Conducted by: Licensed NP or MD
    • Required for: All first-time Pure IV patients and annually thereafter

Who Is Pure IV Telemedicine Right For?

Our telemedicine services are designed for adults who want convenient access to licensed medical providers without the hassle of an in-person clinic visit. You may be a good candidate for Pure IV telemedicine if you fall into any of these categories:

You Want Help with Weight Management

If you’ve been struggling with weight loss and diet and exercise alone haven’t been enough, GLP-1 medications may be an option. Our providers evaluate whether you’re a clinical candidate and, if appropriate, prescribe FDA-approved medications with ongoing monitoring.

You’re Experiencing Symptoms of Low Testosterone

If you’re a man dealing with fatigue, low energy, brain fog, reduced libido, or loss of muscle mass, you may have low testosterone. A simple lab test can confirm it. Our telemedicine providers specialize in evaluating and treating hypogonadism.

You Need a Good Faith Exam for IV Therapy

If you’re a first-time Pure IV patient or your previous GFE has expired, you need a new medical evaluation before receiving IV therapy. Our telemedicine GFE takes about 5 minutes via video and costs just $5.

You Travel Frequently or Live in a Rural Area

Telemedicine removes the barrier of geography. Whether you’re in downtown Nashville or rural West Texas, you can access the same quality of care as long as you’re in one of our 9 service states.

You Value Privacy and Convenience

Some people prefer not to discuss weight loss or hormone therapy in a public waiting room. Telemedicine lets you have that conversation from the privacy of your own home.

What You Need for Your Telemedicine Visit

To participate in a Pure IV telemedicine consultation, you’ll need:

  • To be 18 years of age or older
  • To be physically located in one of our 9 service states at the time of your consultation (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas, or Utah)
  • A device with a camera and microphone (smartphone, tablet, or computer)
  • A stable internet connection
  • A valid government-issued photo ID
  • Your completed health intake form (sent to you before your appointment)
  • Any recent lab work or medical records relevant to your consultation (helpful but not required — your provider can order labs)

For GLP-1 consultations: Know your current weight and height. Your provider will calculate your BMI to determine eligibility.

For TRT consultations: Be prepared to discuss your symptoms in detail. Your provider will order lab work (including testosterone levels) if you don’t have recent results.

Our Commitment to Patient Safety and Compliance

Pure IV is a physician-owned and operated mobile healthcare company. We hold ourselves to the same clinical and ethical standards as a traditional medical practice. Our telemedicine program is built on these principles:

Synchronous Video — Always

Every initial evaluation is conducted via live, real-time video. We do not prescribe medications based solely on online questionnaires, chat, or asynchronous messaging. This meets the highest standard of care and complies with medical board requirements across all states we serve.

Licensed and Credentialed Providers

Every telemedicine consultation is performed by a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Medical Director (MD) who is credentialed and licensed in your state. Our providers are not chatbots, AI assistants, or health coaches — they are licensed medical professionals.

HIPAA-Compliant Technology

All telemedicine communications are conducted through HIPAA-compliant platforms with signed Business Associate Agreements (BAAs). We use:

  • IntakeQ — HIPAA-compliant patient intake forms and health assessments
  • Spruce Health — Secure patient-provider communication and messaging
  • Acuity Scheduling — HIPAA-compliant appointment booking
  • Microsoft Teams — Secure internal team communication and care coordination

FDA-Approved Medications Only

For GLP-1 weight management, Pure IV prescribes only FDA-approved, brand-name medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound). We do not prescribe compounded versions of semaglutide or tirzepatide.

Controlled Substance Compliance

Testosterone is classified as a Schedule III controlled substance. Pure IV complies with all DEA regulations and state-specific controlled substance prescribing requirements. We follow current DEA telemedicine flexibilities and will comply with any future permanent regulations when they are finalized.

Prescriptions Go to a Licensed Pharmacy

Pure IV does not directly dispense or ship medications. All prescriptions are sent electronically to a licensed retail or specialty pharmacy of your choice. This ensures proper chain of custody, dispensing oversight, and regulatory compliance.

Lab Requirements

Diagnostic lab work is required before prescribing TRT and may be required for GLP-1 medications based on your provider’s clinical judgment. Ongoing lab monitoring is part of every treatment plan. Your provider will order labs and review results with you during follow-up visits.

Right to Decline

Our providers retain full clinical discretion to decline treatment if it is not medically appropriate. A consultation is not a guarantee of a prescription. This protects you and ensures our providers are always acting in your best interest.
